Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Authors are requested to submit their work electronically by using the Bangladesh Review’s online submission system. Please follow the instructions provided on each step during the online submission process.  

About Publications

The following type of material will be accepted for publication.

Book reviews

Book reviews should be less than 1500 words (please supply a word count with the document). The reviewed book must be published within the last five years. Only limited number of book reviews will be published in each periodic.

Research articles

The research article should be less than 8,000 words, not including abstract, figure legends, and references (please supply a word count). The papers may represent a variety of theoretical perspectives and different methodological approaches.

All articles should have a short title of fewer than 50 characters, an abstract that contains less than 250 words structured as follows:

  • background (including the aims of the study).
  • Methods (data collection and analysis).
  • If space is short, report only the primary outcomes.

Thesis / dissertation

Submit your unpublished thesis/dissertations that have already been defended. Please submit a copy of the defense report with your thesis/dissertations.

Academic essays

The academic essays should be less than 2,500 words, not including figures, tables, and references (please supply a word count with your essay).

 

Reference style

Text: Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association

Authors have copyright but license exclusive rights in their article to the publisher. The author's submission implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the copyright-holder.
